UZoo started rehearsing together early 2009 in Nashville. Guitarist Chris Simeone (a.k.a Nashville Edge) had performed with many bands throughout New York, Florida and Nashville. He also loves laying down guitar tracks in the studio. He also was part of several churches worship teams over the past 20 years. Wanting to do something different musically, Chris asked himself… "If I was to play the music of just one band, which band would it be?" His passion for U2 made that an easy question to answer. He posted several ads on craigslist and within a few months UZoo was born. The first musician Chris interviewed in late 2008 was Davin McLaird. They hit off right away and have been friends ever since. Soon they found a bass player and vocalist and started rehearsal. After rehearsing for almost one year and developing a set list of 30 songs, UZoo performed their first show at a Christmas party in Franklin Tennessee in December 2009.
